Last Night in Soho

Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho, which is now released in cinemas, is a fantastic film that (in my opinion) eloquently touches on the imagery vs the reality of life in London (both in the 1960s and in the modern day, arguably), the glamorous and not-so-glamourous lives of female performers, and some of the daily realities of living in a city for women.

I don’t want to say much else about the film so as not to spoil its surprises, other than that I really enjoyed watching it and that it was a real honour and pleasure to have contributed to the production of its original soundtrack by Steve Price by preparing the scores and parts for the orchestral recording sessions.

I thoroughly recommend reading this moving article by Edgar about working with the late Dame Diana Rigg and watching this filmed interview with Edgar, the writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and actress Thomasin McKenzie about the film for the Toronto International Film Festival.

And watching the film itself, of course!
